This dataset has the following 31 columns:

Column NameAPI Column NameData TypeDescriptionSample Values
Tax Credit Eligibletax_credit_eligibletextIndicates product model is eligible for federal income tax credits available under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Tax Credit Eligible - Heat Pumps, Northtax_credit_eligible_heat_pumps_northtextENERGY STAR certified products that meet the highest efficiency tiers in the North Climate Region (not including any Advanced Tier) established by CEE in effect as of January 1, 2023.
Tax Credit Eligible - Heat Pumps, Southtax_credit_eligible_heat_pumps_southtextENERGY STAR certified products that meet the highest efficiency tiers in the South Climate Region (not including any Advanced Tier) established by CEE in effect as of January 1, 2023.
Manufacturer Typemanufacturer_typetextA system manufacturer manufactures all the major assemblies in an air-source heat pump and/or central air-conditioner. An independent coil manufacturer (ICM) manufactures only the indoor unit (coil) in a central air conditioner or air-source heat pump split system.
ENERGY STAR Partnerenergy_star_partnertextAn organization that signed a Partnership Agreement with EPA to manufacture or private label ENERGY STAR qualified products.
Series Nameseries_nametextAn identifier assigned by the manufacturer or private labeler to a family/series of products for sales and marketing purposes.
ICM Outdoor Unit Manufacturericm_outdoor_unit_manufacturertextThis is the manufacturer of the outdoor unit for combinations that include indoor units from Independent Coil Manufacturers.
Outdoor Unit Brand Nameoutdoor_unit_brand_nametextFor independent coil manufacturers (ICMs), this is the manufacturer of the outdoor unit used with the independent coil. For system manufacturers, the indoor and outdoor manufacturer is the ENERGY STAR Partner.
Outdoor Unit Model Numbermodel_numbertextA distinguishing identifier, usually alphanumeric, assigned to a product by the manufacturer or private labeler.
Indoor Unit Brand Nameindoor_unit_brand_nametext
Indoor Unit Model Numberindoor_unit_model_numbertextA distinguishing identifier, usually alphanumeric, assigned to a product by the manufacturer or private labeler.
Furnace Model Numberfurnace_model_numbertextCentral air conditioners or heat pumps without an integrated blower fan will be tested with a furnace. Products are only ENERGY STAR certified in combination with the listed furnace.
Product Typeproduct_typetextA Single Package unit is any central air conditioner that has all major assemblies enclosed in one cabinet. A Split System is any central air conditioner that has two separate assemblies, including an indoor coil and an outdoor coil.
Cold Climatecold_climatetextIndicates heat pumps that meet the ENERGY STAR cold climate criteria; cold climate heat pumps will provide better heating performance in low ambient temperatures, making these products an excellent choice for cold climate installations where the heat pump will be the sole heating source.
Meets Peak Cooling Requirementsmeets_peak_cooling_requirementstextMeets EER2 requirements for efficient cooling at 95F.
SEER2 (Btu/Wh)seer2_btu_whnumberThe Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER2) is the ratio of the total heat removed from the conditioned space during the annual cooling season to the total electrical energy consumed by the air conditioner or heat pump during the same season, expressed in Btu/Wh using 10 CFR part 430, Subpart B, Appendix M1 – Section 3.6 Heating mode tests for Different Types of Heat Pumps, Including Heating-Only Heat Pumps.
EER2 (Btu/Wh)eer2_btu_whnumberThe Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER2) is the ratio of the produced cooling effect of an air conditioner or heat pump to its net work input, expressed in Btu/watt-hour using 10 CFR part 430, Subpart B, Appendix M1 – Section 3.6 Heating mode tests for Different Types of Heat Pumps, Including Heating-Only Heat Pumps.
HSPF2 (Btu/Wh)hspf2_btu_whnumberThe Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF2) is the total heating output of a central air-conditioning heat pump during its normal annual usage period for heating, expressed in Btus and divided by the total electric power input, expressed in Btu/Wh using 10 CFR part 430, Subpart B, Appendix M1 – Section 3.6 Heating mode tests for Different Types of Heat Pumps, Including Heating-Only Heat Pumps.

Compressor Stagingcompressor_stagingtextIndicates whether the compressors supports changing heating and cooling capacity: single stage, two stages, more two stages, continuously variable.
Connected Capableconnected_capabilitytextIndicates whether the model meets optional connected criteria as defined in the specification, which may include functions helpful to the electrical grid (standardized signals and responses to manage energy use) and those helpful to consumers, such as scheduling and energy reporting.
Date Available on Marketdate_available_on_marketcalendar_dateThe date that the model is available for purchase.
Date Certifieddate_certifiedcalendar_dateThe date on which the product was confirmed to meet the ENERGY STAR specification.

AHRI Reference Numberahri_reference_numbernumberThis is the reference number assigned by AHRI for certification.
Meets ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2024 Criteriameets_most_efficient_criteriatextIndicates models meeting the Most Efficient criteria. The ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria recognizes the most efficient products among those that qualify for the ENERGY STAR. These exceptional products represent the leading edge in energy efficient products this year. For more information, please visit www.energystar.gov/mostefficient
ENERGY STAR Unique IDpd_idnumberThe ENERGY STAR Unique ID (ESUID) is a string of seven numbers EPA assigns to an ENERGY STAR model or set of models with unique performance characteristics. This ESUID is unique to both the model and product specification version and is assigned by EPA upon receipt of certification information from the certification body. Each row within the product list will have a unique ESUID. Developers may wish to use this ESUID to track information on certified models in their information systems.
