Chicago Energy Benchmarking - 2016 Data Reported in 2017

The law, which phases in from 2014-2017, covers less than 1% of Chicago’s buildings, which account for approximately 20% of total energy used by all buildings. For more details, including ordinance text, rules and regulations, and timing, please visit www.CityofChicago.org/EnergyBenchmarking The ordinance authorizes the City to share property-specific information with the public, beginning with the second year in which a building is required to comply. This view shows data for a single year.

CDPH Environmental Permits
data.cityofchicago.org | Last Updated 2024-07-03T11:55:09.000ZPermits issued by the Department of Environment (DOE) from January 1993 to December 31, 2011 and by the Department of Public Health (CDPH) since January 1, 2012. This dataset also includes tank permits issued by CDPH on behalf of the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall (OSFM). On January 1, 2012, the DOE was disbanded and all its inspection, permitting, and enforcement authorities were transferred to the CDPH. Data fields requiring description are detailed below. APPLICATION ID: This is the unique id of the issued permit. Permits from the historic DOE are prefixed with “DOE.” Permits issued by CDPH are prefixed with “ENV_” APPLICATION NAME: This is the name of the site that is being permitted. This is usually the company/owner name, address, or building name. MAPPED LOCATION: Contains latitude/longitude coordinates of the site as determined through the Chicago Open Data Portal’s geocoding engine. In instances where the facility address is a range, the lower number (the value in the “Street Number From” column) is used for geocoding. For example, for the range address 1000-1005 S Wabash Ave, the Mapped Location would be the coordinates for 1000 S Wabash Ave. APPLICATION TYPE: "ABOVEGROUND STORAGE TANK" Permits to install or remove an Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) for dispensing and non-dispensing with a volume greater than 110 gallons. Transportation Network Providers - Drivers
data.cityofchicago.org | Last Updated 2024-06-28T17:18:01.000ZAll drivers reported by Transportation Network Providers (sometimes called rideshare companies) to the City of Chicago as part of the licensing process and routine reporting required by ordinance. Inclusion of a driver in a monthly report indicates that the driver was eligible for trips in Chicago in that month for at least one day, regardless of whether he or she actually provided any rides. If a driver is eligible in multiple months, which is common, he or she will have records in each of these reporting months. As of the creation of this dataset, there have been four TNPs licensed to operate in Chicago, although never more than three at any given time and currently three. Drivers reported by more than one company in the same month are combined and the MULTIPLE_TNPS column is marked as TRUE. However, the matching process is imperfect so not all such drivers are necessarily identified. Similarly, matching between the licensing and routine reporting databases is imperfect, creating potential for occasional errors. The reporting is done on a monthly basis, as indicated in the MONTH_REPORTED column. However, starting in 2018, the reports are batched and files for all three months in a quarter are delivered to the City of Chicago at the end of each quarter. Due to an issue in this transition, some vehicle records for Q2 2018 (April-June) were reported for the quarter as a whole, rather than for individual months. For purposes of this dataset, those records have been assigned to 2018-06 (June). Therefore, some caution in interpreting this month and the quarter as a whole is advised.
