Incoming emergency calls are dispatched to first response units including police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS). Priority 1 calls are those for an incident where the immediate presence of a responder is essential to save life, prevent serious injury, or to arrest a violent felon. This includes many police calls and nearly all fire and EMS calls.

The program area is Home Delivered Meals. The Home Delivered Meal program provides nutritious meals to home bound seniors who are unable to care adequately for themselves. The program is designed to assist seniors in meeting their nutritional needs. This indicator is directly aligned with the department's business function to improve the quality of life for older adults and the county's self-sufficiency objective for fewer senior residents to experience hunger. The Department categorizes Home Delivered Meals as an intervention program that helps seniors age in place. Meals are delivered according to a set schedule. All meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans published by the Secretaries of Health and Human Services and Agriculture and the RDA's established by the Food and Nutrition Board, Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Senior participants have a choice of at least two entrees and dietary supplements such as Ensure or Glucerna, if required. Participants also receive shelf-stable meals 2-3 times per year. Shelf-stable meals contain foods that do not require refrigeration and can be consumed at room temperature.

Private health insurance is a plan provided through an employer or union, a plan purchased by an individual from a private company. Public programs providing coverage include the federal programs Medicare, Medicaid, and VA Health Care; the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP); and individual state health plans.

Visits may also include discussions about the mother's health, the infant's health, and any questions about the pregnancy.

TB bacteria are spread when they are put into the air when a person with TB disease of the lungs or throat coughs or speaks. People nearby may breathe in these bacteria and become infected. If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal. An effective strategy to ensure patients complete TB treatment is directly observed therapy (DOT). With DOT, a patient meets with a health care worker every day or several times a week. The patient takes the TB medication while the health care worker watches. There is no way to accurately predict whether a patient will adhere to treatment without this assistance. This measures looks at the proportion of patients being treated for TB who receive DOT.

This goal is tracked by measuring the percent of Fulton County health clinic clients age 19 to 36 months who have received all vaccinations according to the ACIP schedule. Vaccinations recommended in the first 3 years include Chickenpox, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Polio, Rubella, Influenza, Pertussis, Pneumococcal, Rotavirus, rubella and Tetanus.
