Number of Volunteers for Revenue-Neutral Programs - Department KPI
sharefulton.fultoncountyga.gov | Last Updated 2024-04-24T21:09:29.000ZInvolving stakeholders and the community is integral to Fulton County Juvenile Court’s mission: first, to protect children and the community in matters brought before the court, to rehabilitate children and restore families; and second, to create opportunities for the community, partners, and stakeholders to actively engage in this mission. In addition, Juvenile Court provides youth a menu of pro-social evidence based diversionary programming as alternatives to the traditional adjudicatory process, and as alternatives to probation/detention. Most of these programs are revenue neutral, and therefore rely on volunteers to serve as mentors, tutors, and active participants. For example, The Leaning Club is a Saturday diversion program that utilizes Atlanta University Center volunteers to tutor youth in core subjects. Likewise, the Citizen Review Panel is composed of trained citizen volunteers who review the status of children in DFCS custody to ensure reasonable efforts are being made to either reunite the child with their family or otherwise find a permanent home/placement.

Access to Parks and Trails - Strategic KPI
sharefulton.fultoncountyga.gov | Last Updated 2023-01-30T18:24:43.000ZThere are a number of ways to measure how well a community provides its residents with opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Trust for Public Land combines a number of measures such as park acreage per resident, walkable access, and spending to derive a single park score; however, that organization rates large municipalities rather than counties. We have chosen instead to use a single measure for which data is readily available for Fulton County and its national benchmark counties: public parkland acreage per 1,000 residents. While this measure may not capture all factors determining outdoor recreational opportunities, the amount of land set aside as parkland is an important measure of opportunities for healthy outdoor activities.
